Barn sight

He watched her ride the horse like a pro, glad to see her so happy. "And he's gorgeous too, I wonder where Chaya got him."

"Ya he is!" Mika grinned "Maybe from the ancient herds?" she asked absent mindedly.

Shiroi snorted, i turned watching Mika ride gracfully on the horse, "Woah...she's good at that" i said to Aaden, i turned to Shiroi, ~You don't have to be nasty....i don't want one....we run everywhere as always~ i smiled as he perked up.

"Maybe," he nodded and turned to the barn wall, "If you're not going to touch it, we might as well work," he said and used the back to the hammer to pry the nails out of the wall.

Mika smiled and whispered something in Lakota into Beauty's ear. He snorted and trotted of a ways and started grazing again. Mika grinned and started helping with the barn.

Aaden looked up at the newly built barn. He wiped the sweat of his brow, looking forward to the swim. They only needed to add a few touch ups and they would be completely done. It had taken them all day, but it was worth it. "Good job everyone!." he said, happy and a little loopy from being so tired.

Mika smiled at the finished product. "Looks great! Ready for that swim? Sure you don't want to join us Kai?" she asked sweetly.

Kai stood back and nodded, "Yup, looks nice..." i said. Shiroi stood back with us to look at our finished work. (HOLY GODMOTHER THAT WAS FAST! LOL )

"Hmm?...oh no you go ahead, me and Shiroi are going to a run on the plains first" i said with a smile.

(rofl! I wanted to get it over with!)

"Time to go swimming!" Aaden said, putting the now battered hammer away. He turned to Kai, "Oh, alright me and Mika will go then." he said and smiled broadly.

Mika nodded. She looked sweetly at Aaden. She remembered something and softly whistled for Beauty. She showed him to his paddock and then turned back to Aaden. "Ready?" she asked as she walked up an interlaced her fingers in his hand.

He kissed her quickly on her forehead, "Let's go!"

Mika grinned and giggled slightly as they took off for the pond.

Kai watched them both go towards to pond, i sighed. ~Well you want to go for a run or go back to the forest and explore....~ i asked Shiroi as my side, ~umm...well how about the best of both worlds....running and exploring throught the forest?~ he grinned with pointed teeth showing. i smiled ~Sound's like a plan.....~ ----Forest---->

Beauty stuck his head out of the stall when he heard Aaden come in. He snuffled (haha) and tossed his head, restless and wanting to stretch his legs. Aaden unlatched the door and led him back to Mika.

Mika wandered over to the barn and let the two horses out in separate paddocks. She didn't know Koda's cycles and they didn't need any foals yet. She groomed both of them before walking back into the barn and laying on the hay. She let herself relax into it and soon fell asleep.

Aaden felt for the note in his pocket as he made his way to the barn, Mika was due back today. As he entered the barn he heard the nickering of a new horse and he smiled, turning to see Mika asleep on the hay. He shook her gently, "Mika? Mika you-" he cut off, seeing the fading cuts and bruises. "... shouldn't sleep here." he continued, deciding not to bother her about it right now.

Mika's eyes flew open and she quickly sat up. She looked around quickly. "what?" she asked nervously. Then she saw it was only Aaden. She smiled embarrassed and looked away again. She hoped he hadn't seen the fading bruise on her cheek. He couldn't know that part of her reason for choosing him had been as a cover.

"So, did you get a nice mare for Beauty?" he asked, sitting down next to her on the hay.

Mika smiled slightly and scooted over a bit to make room for him. "Yep," she pointed to the buckskin in the other paddock. "Her name is Koda, she still needs alot of work but she is really smart. So what you been up to?" she asked quietly not really wanting to talk about her adventures out on the range. He couldn't be the first to know...she wasn't sure if she even wanted him to know. What would he think of her?

He stared at her for a second, she was acting a little different, plus the bruises. 'What happened?' he wondered to himself, " Nothing much, just cleaned some stuff up around the village." he replied, "There's a new girl, Tyler... also someone new in Vandecar, Bardon."

Mika nodded as she listened. "Good..both villages need more people" she said quietly "What are they like?"

"Bardon, well I'm not really sure...and Tyler seems nice enough." he shrugged, he hadn't really interacted with them.

Mika nodded and smiled slightly. She let herself lay back down in the hay. "Sorry...I..I'm tired from the scouting trip.." she said quietly
