Cattle Pasture

This pasture has an old lean to shelter. It is where all the cattle is process of being domesticated reside. It has several shade trees.

Mika led the way over and motioned to the cattle. "It is a small herd but enough for now. The leader of Vandecar and I were going to go out on a hunt for two or three young bulls for meat for this winter. You are welcome to join us" she offered not really thinking. She smiled as she watched the two calves playing and running around. Their longer fur flowing behind them a bit.

Malek and Toboe walked up to the strange pasture, the grey wolf sniffing around.
~Cattle for sure.~ He said sarcastically. Malek laughed.
~Of course! Look at the herd, idiot!~ He joked with his wolf, pointing to a large heard of cattle. He turned his head a bit and saw two people talking, a man and a women.
"Wonder who they are..." He said quietly, shiffting his pack on his back and walking forward to them
"Hi." He smiled.
"I am new around here. Um...some village elders said I belong to Cahoon...and that my leader was...M...M...Meeka? I think that's her name. Do you know where I can find her?" He asked politely.

"Those are some....strange looking cattle" he hesitated not wanting to upset Mika. "Who is this leader of Cahoon, a close friend of yours?" He asked. Since he's gotten here she's mentioned him several times. With a smirk on his face he looked over at the cows.

Kuruk turned at the voice of the strange "Hello" he said in return. "Mika" he corrected with a lakotan accent

"Oh..." He looked down, embaressed.
He chuckled and looked around.
"My bad"

He watched as the new guy looked at him "no, oh no not me, her" he pointed at mika

"Of Vandecar" she gently correct "He...is a good friend" she said as she looked down. She had to laughed a bit as he mentioned the cattle. "Ya they have highland cattle blood. It will help them in the winters here." She looked up at another newcomer "they come in waves hmm?" she muttered to herself. "Hi, umya it pronounced Mika" she smiled slightly. "This is Cahoon, and you can find her right here. I am Mika" she said with pride in her eyes. "And you would be?"

Malek looked over at the women and offered his hand.
"Nice to meet you. I am Malek Adrieon. And this is my wolf, Toboe." He pointed looked at his wolf, who bowed his head.

"vandecar sorry." when she said close friend something twinkled in her eye. He smiled and turned to the new comer

Mika nodded "Good to meet you Malek, do you have experience with ranching?" she asked.

He scratched the back of his head, laughing.
"Well...a little bit. I did do alot of ranch work when I was young. Mostly with cattle and horses." He smiled and looked at the cattle.
"Real nice herd you've got. Say about....twenty of them out there?" He guessed.

Kuruk looked back at the cattle and cocked an eyebrow. He quickly counted them and turned to Malek "four" he said bluntly

Mika looked at him and back out at the cattle. "Been wandering awhile? Mirages haunt those that don't have water.." she said

Kuruk turned and chuckled and then looked at Mika from the corner of his eyes

"If you don't ming, I think I may wonder about for a moment. Just call for me if you need me!" He smiled knowing that Mika knew all to well how to call for a fellow lakotan if needed

Mika smiled and nodded "Sounds good" she turned back to Malek to make sure he was ok.

"Well feel free to wander" she smiled. At that she started walking towards the trading shop. She had seen something and hoped she wasn't right.

Malek chuckled.
"Woops my bad. Yeah been wandering with very little water. Guess them mirages got to me." He looked at Toboe.
~Yeah talk about little.~ He chuckled.

Malek watched as they both left. He climbed on the fence and sat there, watching the cattle.
~I do very much like it here.~ He said.
~So do I.~ Toboe replyed, laying down on the ground underneath him.

Mika ran to the cattle pasture and hid behind one of those trees. Tears running down her face. Her mind had connected the dots. Her fiance had gone with his father to help another member of the tribe get their son back. They had tried many times over the years but had always been repelled. This was the first time Running Wolf had been allowed on a war party. He had been so happy. They had gone on the mission. All the warriors had fought valiantly, many died. Running wolf among them. Kuruk was the son...her love had died trying to bring Kuruk back. "no..no it can't be" she wept.

Ferret form of Jarlon hopped through the grass and stopped here and there standing tall looking for where it was coming from. Not sure who it was. He got ontop of a boulder and sniffed the air. Then he saw her. He pounded over to where mika was leaning against the tree and chattered sofftly and looking up at her.

Mika looked up suddenly. She saw the ferret and bit her lip but curled up again sitting upright and put her face between her knees as the tears rolled down her cheeks. She remebered the look on Running's face as he had excitedly told her about the mission he had been allowed to go on "I will prove I am a warrior! The greatest warrior!" he had boasted. "And then they will say..where is this great warriors wife? And I will present you" he had grinned. They had laughed and joked. It hadn't occurred to either of them that he might not come back....Another volley of tears started streaming down her face.

(awww that made me tear up)

He cocked his head at her. Oh how he wanted to morph into himself and hug her and hold her. He didn't want to see her cry. Gently he laid his head on her foot and looked up at him with his blue eyes, He blinked a couple of times before giving in and pulling himself up on her leg and licking the tears from her eyes. His paws on her nose and cheek

Mika cried more when suddenly she felt little paws on her. Her eyes widened as the ferret licked away some of her tears and placed it's paws on her nose and cheek. She sniffed and gently placed her hands on the ferret. She stroked it and then held it close. She didn't realize how close till it made a little coughing noise. "Oh sorry" she said in Lakota. She sniffed again and used one hand to wipe away some tears. She held the ferret out a few inches and stroked it again. She bit her lip and sighed. "Why do memories have to ruin my life" she moaned out loud to herself. "I can't escape them, they haunt me like a bad dream."

not sure if to reveal himself yet or not he gave off a ferret sigh and chattered a bit more and wrapped his paws around her hand and hugged her arm.
