Stallion's Pasture

All male horses and stallions reside here. There is a shelter in this pasture as well but it needs repair like everything else. There are apple and shade trees growing wild in the pasture. The fences have been reinforced to hold these more robust residents.


Current Residents

Beauty - Given by Chaya to the leader of Cahoon.

Ardeo - Owned by Bardon temporary resident till Vandecar has paddocks.

Mika led the way to the stallions pastures. "This is where we keep the boys till we are ready for more foals. Beauty there," she said pointing to the black Andalusian "is a gift from this village's elder. He is the foundation stallion. Ardeo, there is a temporary resident till his...owner builds paddocks in vandecar" she said. She visibly tensed as she thought of Bardon. She just had this feeling he was sneaking around again. She shook it off and watched the two stallions for a moment.

"Beauty is the perfect name for a horse with such elligence" he said and then shifted his eyes to the other stallion and as she said that he didn't belong her she tensed up. He didn't say word. Looking at the fence he noticed a loose nail. He picked up a rock and quickly hammered it back in. "ok...what's next" He smiled as he absored his surroundings

Mika smiled and nodded "That it is, ok cattle" she pointed towards their pasture.

"And away we go" he said stepping in sink with her. Nakotah, who was perched on the Barn groomed his wings as he watched the comotion below

Elsa and Malek made their way over to the stallion and geldings pasture. Beauty grazed peacefully in the background. Meanwhile another black gelding and a dapple grey gelding were playing tag around the pasture. Elsa climbed up onto the fence and watched them with much interest.

Malek watched as Elsa seemed to take interest in Adreo and Moon. He climbed up on the fence beside her and whistled for the two geldings to come.
{Moon.} He pointed to the dapple grey gelding and patted his nose, then pointed to the black one, unsure of how to sign his name
"Ad-re-o." He sounded out his name slowly so that Elsa would understand.

She smiled and nodded {Beautiful horses} she signed. {Are they..gentle?} she asked and then giggled as Moon nudged her arm looking for treats. {no treats, sorry} she signed to the horse and then grinned at Malek. She loved horses, but had rarely gotten to ride them. At first because she was a girl, and then..because she was deaf.

He nodded and jumped down, stroking Adreo's neck.
{Very gentle} He signed to her, jumping on Adreo's back.
{Want to come with?} He patted the spot behind him, offering a ride to her.

Her eyes lit up {Really?} she signed quickly. Then moving closer on the fence she tried to figure out how to get on.

He reached down and offered a hand up.
"It's safe." He mouthed to her.
"Jump." He mouthed also, taking her hand gently.

She smiled and then "slowly" jumping she settled on the horse's back behind him. Ardeo shifted slightly and her arms tightened around Malek to keep her balance. She blushed slightly and eased her grip trying to find natural balance. It felt so perfect to be on a horse again.

He smiled as she jumped and wrapped her arms around him tightly.
"You'll be alright" He told her, hoping she'd be able to read his lips still. He patted her hand and slowly turned Ardeo around.
"Easy boy..." He crooned to the horse. He made Ardeo walk forward, making sure he didn't make any sudden movements that would startle Elsa.

Elsa loosened her grip further but still held on for balance. She smiled as they moved around the pasture. Moon followed along plodding behind like a trained trail horse.

Spirit stood there patting the horses in the field.

Molly had been watching the two riding. Seeing a new face in the pasture she trotted over wagging her tail. She knew the human wouldn't be able to understand her language but she licked the new human's hand.

Mal smiled and looked behind him to see Moon trailing behind like a little lost puppy.
The trail rode around the pasture in a circle almost, leading them back to the barn. He patted Elsa's hands and looked at her face.
"Faster?" He mouthed to her, hoping she'd be able to understand.

Elsa grinned and nodded quickly tightening her grip around his waist. As the horse settled into a faster pace she let out a gentle laugh. She had not had so much fun in ages.

He smiled at her laugh as the trotted down the pasture. It sounded like a bird singing a song in the forest during spring. It almost sounded like his mother's singing to him when he was a small boy.
He sighed a little and felt Elsa tighten her grip more.
"Woah, boy. Wooaah." He crooned to the horse, making him slow down.

"Why..slow..down?" she asked haltingly in his ear.

He looked at her face, and saw she looked almost scared.
"He was going too fast." He said slowly, looking at Ardeo. Something must have spooked him a bit back there.

Elsa shrugged. She enjoyed riding around for a little longer. Then she leaned towards his ear. "We..both..ride now? Find..um...sheep?" she did not hear her words so she could only hope they made sense.

He thought about it for a second then smiled and nodded. He turned Ardeo around to go to Moon for Elsa to ride.
Once they rode up beside Moon, Mal helped Elsa on to the gentle gray horse and handed her his reigns.
"Gently." He pulled his imaginary reign to the right to show her what to do.

She smiled as he helped her up onto the gray horse and then directed him gently as Mal showed her. Turning Moon toward the gate she urged him into a walk. ~Molly open the gate will you?~ She asked her ever present border collie. Barking excitedly Molly came over and expertly tugged on the rope before nudging the gate open. She held it there till they were through and then closed it again before trotting along beside them. {Range lands?} Elsa sighed questioningly.
