Mika's House

Mika smiled and exhaled softly as he pulled her closer. She wrapped her arms around his waist and blushed slightly when he told her he loved her. "And I love you, more than I could ever try to describe" she said softly. She tilted her head into his gentle hand and closed her eyes.

Mal, Tsume, and Whisper walked up to the house quietly and Mal gently knocked on the door.
"Mika? May I talk to you for a minute?" He asked through the door.

Mika sighed softly and gave Saron a hug. "Duty calls" she whispered. She slipped out the door still in her native american fancy pow wow dress. "Hey Malek" she said softly

He nodded to Mika and thought for a second on how he'd ask his question.
"Can I talk to you and Saron? It's about...." He hesitated for a second, unsure if he should ask now when Mika looked like she was having a great time. ".....it's about...uh....Arya." He asked slowly.
'Maybe I should come back another time.' He thought to himself.

"Um sure" Mika nodded understandingly. "Saron?" she called softly back into the house.

He looked down at his feet, shuffling them, and then hesitated.
"If you want I can come back another time, when you're not busy." He said as he looked up to look Mika in the eyes.

"Yup?" he asked as he walked to the door one hand on the door frame and the other on his hip. "Hey Malek" he smiled

"No your fine, we are just waiting for everyone to be ready for the pow wow tonight" she said gently "What about Arya?"

*Time Travel*

Mika turned to Saron and gently set the giggling, burbling Jason into his carrier. "Ready?" she asked slipping on her moccasins.

Mika had fallen into bed the night before and didn't even remember falling asleep. She woke with a yawn and sighed not feeling Saron's presence in the bed. She wondered where he was. She stretched one arm slightly and then smiled as she looked down at little Jason next to her. She tilted her head slightly. Something was different. He looked..older. She blinked and looked down at his hands. The amulet! She had forgotten to take it off the night before. His little hands were clasped around it. "Jason?" she asked with a worried voice. He stirred and yawned slightly. He saw her face and smiled, yawning and giggling all at the same time. "Jason" she said relieved that he seemed ok, yet something still seemed different. She quickly hugged him and then looked him over again. She was sure of it, he looked several months older.

Saron walked in with a few quail hanging by their feet in his hands. "Good morning love" he said with a smile and closed the door behind him

Mika looked up startled a little bit. "Oh...good morning" she said distracted. She looked back at Jason confused. She gently held him up to Saron to see. "Does he look older to you?" she asked strangely.

Saron wrinkled his brown and scratched his chin looking at the boy that seemed to have grown over night. He walked closer making faces at the boy making him giggle. "Is that our Jason?" He asked mockingly walking up to him and taking him from Mika and swinging him around and then placing him on his hip and kissing his forehead.

Mika nodded dumbly. "He...grew" she said softly and then looked down at the amulet around her neck. "I...forgot to take it off last night." she swallowed "He was...playing with.." she trailed off and looked away feeling incredibly guilty. He was her treasure, her only son. All that was left of Jarlon. How could she have been so stupid as to make a mistake like that? What kind of effects would the amulet have on him? Would their own son get sick with the genetic plague? Or worse...would he become a revenge? Her eyes were full of fear and worry. "What if he" she trailed off again and bit her lip.
