Barn sight

i laughed and looked around, "Well we've got a while to go here...." i looked over the ground once again, "Well ther 'clearing' parts don't....next leveling it somewhat" i looked around and found several suitabile sticks, i broke two of them i took a leather strap from my Belt and tied a sharp rock to one of the ends, i did like wise to the other stick making a hoe type tool, "here these will work...." i started to chop at a bump in the earth i shoved the loose dirt into a low spot.

"Still clearing up up the area." Aaden said, "You doing okay over there?" he asked and tossed the last rock to the pile, "Done!"

Mika looked around and nodded. It was looking great. "looking good guys" she smiled. 'Ya..my side is feeling better. Still hurts a little if I do anything to sudden though" she coughed "or cough" she grimaced slightly.

my head jerked around, i exhailed. (A bit jumpy) "It's going good....How are you feeling?" i asked taking off my wide belt/sash. i laided carefully a ways away from the sight, i slipped off my outer shirt, underneath was a shorter tanktop, i laid my shirt down beside my other belongings and got back to work.

i turned as Mika caughed, "Are you sure your ok?....maybe we should go get Jarlon?" i offered.

Mika looked up again "No I'm ok" she reassured. Of course she would love to see Jarlon again. But he had his own village to take care off. He didn't need to be worrying about her and coming over to check on her.

Aaden stretched and went over to Kai's side, helping him gather up the debris. "Looks pretty good." he turned to Mika, "You sure? I'm not sure hanging out with sweaty guys is all that great."

"Ok..." Shiroi shook then walked over to Mika, "well if you feel even a little bit off...tell us and well get him" i said siriously, somehow Jarlon knew thing's about doctoring.

Mika smiled "Better than hanging out with a bunch of books in a dusty library" she laughed slightly "oh don't make me laugh" she grinned and grimaced at the same time.

"Ok I will" she said seriously

"Sorry." he said. "I'm so thirsty now..." he said and sat on the floor next to Mika, "How bout a break?" he asked Kai.

Mika smiled as he came and sat next to her. She blushed ever so slightly and averted her eyes petting the two big cats next to her.

Kai nodded, "Sure..." i siad and took a seat. "Well Aaden...shall we start stripping gone the old barn first?....or would you rather use up the wood in the Paddock" i asked. i whipped the sweat from my forehead.

He looked at Mika for a second and smiled slightly and turned back to Kai, "I don't think the old wood in the original barn will stay strong enough for a new building."

"None of it?" Mika asked

"Ya...." i nodded at Mika, "So we'll get the other wood and use this wood for the siding...we can use the old floor as the siding...it's not strong enought for a floor, but will be for siding" i laid my head against to old barn and sighed.

"Maybe the frame..." he said and shifted into the position he usually sat in, leaning back on his hands.

"Ya the frame looks good...." i agreed agusting the a strap of my short tank top.

Mika listened and nodded. "Ya your not kidding about the floor" she chuckled

He smiled, rolling up his sleeves and said,"I don't want to work anymore today..." he sighed, looking over at the old barn, tearing it down with just their hands would take all day.

Mika looked at him. "Well we need to keep going on it. Sorry I can't help at the moment but if we don't get this done we can't get the horses in..." she sighed. "I'd help if I could.." she said wistfully.

"it's only noon though..." i said looking up into the sky.

"It's ok, we're still good." he said, getting up and knocking on the old stable. "Let's get started, shall we?"

Mika smiled. She hated driving them on but they couldn't take it easy any more. Vandecar already had a field planted and chickens. Cahoon hadn't done much. They needed to keep going or both villages might not survive the winter. Vandecar would need livestock, and fertilizer.

i nodded and hopped up and walked to the barn, "I think we should wait to take down the barn till we have a frame of the new one" i said.
