Jarlon snarled at both of them, he again knew this wasn't his village but this seemed like one of those pointless arguments. "Why don't both of you chill out, what happened happened, nothing anyone can do about it now. I think your safest bet is to carefully tare the Barn down, now that we saw what happened and rebuild it on sturdy ground and then use that cellar for cool storage. Like meat, fish, water, that kind of stuff. Of course that is up to you and your village leader. But honestly is it making you feel better arguing about it?!" I looked between the two with pleading eyes and then started to get up when Mika grabbed my hand. I sighed "Ok a bit long but not to much I have to get back to the chickens and field before it gets dark."

Mika nodded. She knew he needed to get back, she had asked to much already. The only thing was...no one else seemed to be really stepping up to take care of her. And unlike what she would normally do, she couldn't take care of herself at the moment. She was unsure of what would happen once he left.

I looked down at her before I started to get up and saw the worry and the fear in her eyes. "A little longer" I whispered to her and repositioned myself and leaned against the tree as she laid her head on my lap. Now is when I wished I had my flute with me, but working in the fields I didn't think to carry it with me. Instead I began to hum to help pass the time.

Mika smiled slightly and snuggled her head into his lap again. She didn't know why..but she trusted him. It was good to have a friend. She hadn't had one in a long time. She wanted to trust some of the guys in her own village..but none of them seemed to be stepping up to earn it. And especially after the ship she didn't give her trust out freely. After a little while she woke up again. She looked up at Jarlon and smiled slightly before breathing in reminded her of her broken ribs. She narrowed her eyes slightly at the pain. "Um.." she didn't want to ask more of him but she would feel more comfortable if she was settled in a building somewhere before he left. "Um..could you help me over to the library? There is a fireplace in there and lots to look at. Even if I can't read it.." she finished with a mumble.

I felt her shift around and then I finally looked down and saw she was watching me. "Oh of course." I replied gleefully. I helped her up and to the library. "I'll even stay a while and see if can teach you how to read a little" I grinnned

Mika smiled a little wider at his smile and slowly let him help her up and to the library. Thankfully while her ankle hurt she could walk on it. She looked up at his offer "Really!?" she said excitedly.

Arya yawned and woke up. She blinked her eyes and looked around for Jarlon, when she saw him go to the Library with Mika. She closed her eyes for a sec and bit her lip.
'Oh....'
She shook her head and stood up. She smirked a bit seeing Salem and Aaden.
'Oh, g'old Sal' she thought herself shaking her head.
Arya walked into the shadows so silently boys didn't even notice she was gone.

"Oh and Aaden" Salem snapped. "While you were off, I collected the wood." He pointed to a large pile of planks before striding off towards the library.

"Ok..." he said and followed him toward the library.

...............cahoon outdoors

I went to the outside wall and began to put all my weight into it through my arms. My arms buldged and so did my neck as I pushed agains the corner post. It barely moved. I then went to the wall and gave it a gentle push and it began to creak. I backed off and gave it a forcefull punch and watched the wood splinter into the barn. "Nice! Good foundation bad wood." I would leave what they were going to do up to them. If they wanted my opinion they could ask.

Outside buildings->
Mika stirred when she heard something over by the barn. She sat up and looked around. She saw Jarlon over testing the wood. She steadied herself with the stone bench and slowly stood up. She slowly and carefully made her way over to the barn. "Good morning" she said softly.

I turned when I heard Mika's voice. I smile spread across my fice "Morning" I said with my hands on my hips. I lowered them and brushed them together to get the wood splinters off of them. I rubbed my knuckles.

"everything ok?" she asked looking at the punch hole into the barn. She got a slightly distracted look as the pain twinged again, she tried to ignore it and pasted on a slight smile again.

"Oh ya, that?!" I said pointing at the hole "i was testing your wood for you. Either I was going to break my fist or break the wall. kinda glad the wall gave way come to think of it" I rubbed my knuckles again.

Mika couldn't help but chuckle "ya I would be too. Hmm maybe I should change my story and say I was testing the wood in the floor?" she joked

"No really, I was just testing the wa....oh nevermind" I smiled and then quickly turned and walked to the other end of the barn and put some weight on it.

Mika watched him walk away and chuckled slightly but then she grew serious again. "How old do you think this barn is?" she asked

"Oh......I don't know....." I leaned against it looking up "80 years or so...maybe more." I then looked back down to her "This side seems ok...." Iwanted to say more but I stopped

Mika nodded and then heard him trail off. She walked slowly a little closer. She looked at the barn as though she was examining it. "What?" she asked

"what what?"

Mika looked at him. She cocked her head slightly. "you were going to say something else..what was it?" she asked softly.

"Oh." I huffed "If I were you I would tare this down...carefully thought.... save the wood and rebuild....over....there. I don't think I would put a single horse in here. However that cellar might come in handy for...."

Mika nodded and looked over towards where he was pointing. She looked back again. She gave him an expression like "for what?"

"well it's under ground, things underground tend to stay cooler. You can store barrels of meat, fish, water, and other things down there. If you get a good cover built and if you keep it moist it will stay even cooler." I hinted "have you thought about going out and finding horses?"

Mika nodded and considered it. "Sounds reasonable" she smiled. She looked up at his mention of horses. "Ya..alot. I was thinking of going out in a few days...well I was before I did this anyway."
